  • The 2024 Gogebic County Fair will be held on August 8th-11th at the Pat O’Donnell Civic Center
  • There will be a full Carnival-wrists bands will be $15 in advance and $20 at the door. They will be available around mid-July. We will post further information as it become available.
  • Animals will be on exhibit and welcome, although the horse show will be held the following week in Iron County and will not be attending this year’s fair being held at the Civic Center
  • We will be accepting all exhibitions as in the past-fruits, vegetables, arts, crafts, models, sewing, knitting etc. Everything will be accepted
  • There will be no premiums this year, and this year only, related to logistical reason. Ribbons will be awarded, as in the past, as well as Grands and Reserves, as in the past
  • There will be no admission to get into the Fair, but we will have donation containers around, and we ask that you be generous. In the past, a significant amount of our fair has been funded by gate entry fees.
  • These are some of the events we will be having-wood carving, live music, chicken bingo, youth challenge, tractor pedal pull, fun e business, chili pepper eating contest, livestock auction, tired iron tractor display, pie auction, food booths, beer booths, bubble gum blowing contest etc. There will not be a mud run or the harness races this year.
  • If you will be bringing your animals, you must register your animal prior to bringing-to make sure we have enough room. All animals will be in tents outside. We will have the animals double fenced, and there will be a night watchman to keep an eye on everything. We will have limited space and will only be setting up space for those that pre-register. THIS IS A MUST!!! You can pre-register with Linda Nelson via text or phone call at 906 364-0154, or email at llnelson61@sbcglobal.net , or you may call the extension office at 906 663-4045, or email Ashley at hampston@msu.edu. Make sure that you receive a confirmation from us so that we can assure that we have received your request. We do welcome each and every one of you!
  • The choice to move the Fair to the Civic Center this year was a choice we had to make, as the County Board was not going to allow us to use the Fair Grounds this year. We had 2 choices, 1 was to not have a Fair, and the other was to move the Fair. We know how important the Fair is to you, so we made the decision to move the Fair, for this year only.
  • The Fair Premium Book, as well as the full schedule will be out within the next 2 weeks. Not much, as fair as class entries, will have changed.
  • Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you at the 2024 Fair!!
